You can avoid the problems of deep vein thrombosis with short breaks away from your chair during the time you are at work. Get up and stretch or walk around about every 20 minutes during the work day. Stretch your body, and work to get your blood pumping. If you do a little bit of exercise in small increments spread throughout your day, it can make a dramatic improvement in your fitness.
