If you are eating meals off a small plate, you will probably eat less. Research has demonstrated that, no matter the size of the portion presented to us, most of us will eat it all. When you use a smaller plate, it will fill it up and make it seem as though you are eating more.
Keep a record of your eating habits, so you can follow your progress to monitor your slip-ups. If you keep a diary of your food intake, you will be able to identify patterns and mistakes easily. Even little snacks here and there can add up, and the food diary makes that very clear.
